Nobody likes making hard decisions. Well now you don't have to!

Never worry about making those difficult decisions again, just pick how many options you need to decide between (2,3,6) fill in your choices and roll the dice. No more worries, instant decision!

Plus who needs accountability? You didn't make the decision....the universe did! So that means if it's the wrong choice it's not your fault. Right!?

(ind.ecisions.net does not support people being unaccountable for their actions, well unless you're a politician. We're used to it from those buggers)

Roll the dice and make your choice!

How we roll.....the dice.

Trained monkeys. 100s & 100s of trained monkeys.

Well ok so there are no monkeys involved ('cept maybe Gerry) but the real way we do it is even cooler!

Unlike other decision making sites which use pseudo-random numbers we use true-random numbers. These numbers are generated using Atmospheric noise, you know the stuff caused by the eight million lightning flashes which occur daily.

That's right we are harnessing the power of Mother Nature just to make YOUR decisions!

To see just how different pseudo-random numbers and true-random numbers are, compare these 2 images: (thanks to Bo Allen)

  1. Image generated using a common Pseudo-random Number generator, PHP rand();
  2. Image generated using True-random Numbers.

This is all possible due to Dr Mads Haahr and Trinity College, Dublin in Ireland. Check out random.org for more information on how Mads turns lightning into bits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ok I still don't get it, what does this do?

Think of it as rolling a virtual-dice and then using the number rolled to help you make a difficult decision
(like if you should have a Mars or a Snickers, actually bad example....Snickers everytime!).

Why can I only choose 2, 3 or 6 options? What happend to 4 & 5?

Because the decision making process is modelled after a dice we need to make sure that we limit the number of options to numbers that will divide evenly into 6.

When you pick 2 options we assign even numbers to 1 option and odd numnbers to another, when you select 3 options we assign the numbers 1 & 2 to the first option, 3 & 4 to the second and 5 & 6 to the third. Six options, well you'll never guess what we do then ;)

But what do I do if I have 4 or 5 options?

Roll three times. Break your choices up into 2 groups with 2 or 3 options in each. Roll each group and remember the 'winner'. Then simply roll the remaining 2 choices against each other.

Think of it as a mini-tournament or something, you know like the All Valley Tournament

You do realise that Dice is the plural and Die is the singular, don't you?

Yeah I do, but I just don't like the word Die. It's quite a harsh word don't you think?

I did toy with the idea of using or datum but that would have been really confusing - but yeah thanks for pointing that out...*jerk*
